Themis in the News!

Themis featured by Daily Candy:

"Keeping Up Appearances" (August 3, 2007)

Highlights. Tatas. The Bulgarian accent you adopted freshman year just to see where it would get you. It’s not the makeover that gives you trouble — it’s the upkeep.

Which is probably why your clutter has turned into a giant mess. Time for Jena Jolissaint to clean house. The mastermind behind Themis, an organizing service named for the Greek goddess of divine order, will do the making over for you and show you how to maintain it.

She starts with a free consult to determine your needs; it’s followed by a three-hour tidying session. She’ll tack on extra half-hours for closets and media or home office spaces that need special attention.

Her approach is based on real life (yes, your real, messy life) rather than an ideal (one where you don’t eat, drink, or sit on anything ever again). Even more surprising? Jolissaint follows up with a gratis house call to ensure that you’re able to work with her plan all on your own.

And dahs very, very goot.

"Stop all that messing around with your desk " (January 14, 2008)
By John Kessler, Staff

Is your New Year's resolution to be more organized lost in the clutter crowding your desk? Then stop and survey your work domain today -- National Clean Off Your Desk Day.

As a journalist familiar with the habits of the disorganized desk set, we sought advice from a few area professional organizers. Here are their answers to our messiest questions.

Jena Jolissaint, Themis Organizing Service:

Q: What do you do if you're a dedicated "piles person?"

A: Put your piles in clear containers or hang them from clear plastic bags on the walls.

Q: Can you keep food at your desk?

A: I'm not opposed, but it's good to have a designated spot.

Q: Can you make a spot for your cat on your desk?

A: If you can get the cat to sit in that spot, power to you. My cat likes the keyboard.
